Chocolate Tour New York - Li-LacWhat better way to spend a day than on a Chocolate Tour around New York City, is a Free Chocolate Tour — thanks Tara.

When I got the call to meet up at Chelsea Market to start my Chocolate Tour, I started drooling. Two hours of tasting New York’s best chocolates. All I can say is mmmm. Our tour guide was actually pretty cool and gave us a bit of New York history as we headed down to the village and our first stop at Li-Lac Chocolates. Manhattan’s oldest chocolate house since 1923, all the chocolates are handmade. We got to sample two different things, a chocolate drop which was just ok, and a Butter Crunch which was fabulous. Alright, it’s not chocolate, but it was damn good.

Next stop was The Chocolate Bar across the street. We got to sample one measly, piece of chocolate that wasn’t even worth of a photo so I took one of the chocolate moustaches that amused me more.

Next up was Milk and Cookies, a favourite of mine. Hidden down a quiet street in the Village is one of Manhattan’s best bakeries. Here we got to sample a double chocolate chip cookie. This is where the chocolate overload started to begin. But don’t worry, I fearlessly forged onwards.

Heading down to Bleecker, we stopped of at Bisous, Ciao for a chocolate Macaroon. Small and light — and gluten free, this baby was easy to pop back in a single bite.

Next was some random bakery in Greenwich that served Cannolis. Now I’m not a huge fan of the Cannoli, so I tried a bite and moved on. I don’t think there was any chocolate in that Cannoli by the way.

And finally, the last stop was in Soho at Vosges for their “Haut” Chocolat. They have free samples on the counter that you can try but the piece de resistance was the Bacon Chocolate. I was hesitant, but it was amazing.
